Birgit studied wildlife ecology and neuroscience in college and graduate school. She went on to work as a teacher and scientific illustrator at the University of Wisconsin- School of Veterinary Medicine. Later, she worked as a ceramic artist, creating unique handmade tiles and designing large tile installations. These days she is painting, painting, and more painting!
